Why Israel FightsBack to Article »

An Israeli success in Gaza would be a victory in the war on terror — and in the broader struggle for the future of the Middle East.

Contrary to what William Kristol writes, Israel's genocidal attack on Gaza, will further radicalize the Muslim world. It will increase the danger of terror attacks both against the Jewish and the American assets around the world. The more Muslims feel helpless against the might of US and Israel, the more radicals will get moderate Muslim sympathy for their symbolic terror wars. The world-wide protest should be enough proof that world opinion is not convinced about Israel's bonafides in camouflaging of its more sinister designs on occupied territories by unconvincing propaganda, that they are not against Palestinians or that they only want to stop rockets landing in Israeli territory. Both these objectives are fake and unattainable, unless Israel moves to increase its moves towards peace in equal and direct proportion to its moves on war, strangulation of Palestinians in their virtual prison, the ever suffocating apartheid regime that Israel is inflicting on occupied land and its people. The world is not convinced that Israel's much touted democracy should hold the world as hostage to its need to shed Muslim blood in their inter party politicking. The cost of this wanton war of genocidal proportion is inevitably fall on rest of the world and they have a direct interest in fighting terror not only through tit for tat terrorism, but through righting the wrongs and through far-sighted diplomacy.
