SAVE MUMBAI BECOMING INTERNATIONAL BATTLEGROUND FOR TERRORISTS

It is tragic that one of the most traumatic events that the city if Mumbai had undergone, the massacre of 26/11 is being used by Congress government to play a most reckless game by inviting Israeli intervention into Indian affairs.

Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh government are fully aware of extreme reaction from Indian Muslims in giving any space to Israelis in India's affairs.

In fact, Advani had initiated relations with Israel in direct antipathy to Indian Muslims with the proviso, that the enemy of enemy is a Saffron friend.

Indian Muslims have no part in any terrorist acts that either point to our neighbours or to our own disgruntled Saffron bombardiers, who were so clearly exposed by the Shaheed Karkare, the ex Chief of Maharashtra ATS.

Wholesale arrests of Muslims in the aftermath of bombings all across the country was a deliberate vindictive policy by the communalized security forces and as the record of prosecution has amply proved that all such arrests were predominantly political and time and again courts had to release the charged as innocents.

There is no doubt that the events of 26/11 had proved that our security forces had never prepared themselves for any such blatant attack on its civilians, launched by suicidal terrorist coming in from the sea and with so much ease and without any hindrance. Undoubtedly, 26/11 was India's own 9/11. Indian Government owes it to its people to organize the most effective security regime, so that no such incidents recur. However, the choice of Israel is more like wagging a red rag to international terrorists and directly losing sympathy with Indian Muslims. India's security cannot be watertight, unless there is a direct and vigorous involvement of its people. When a section of its people, the 120 million Indian Muslims, for reasons, right or wrong are not positively disposed towards Israelis, for their record of brutalities inflicted on their fellow Muslims in Palestine and other Muslim countries and over Israel's future designs in stirring strife and war in our neighbourhood, Congress government, which has just got reelected on the surge of Muslim voters overwhelmingly supporting it in the last Lok Sabha elections, should be more careful and sensitive to the sensitivities of Indian Muslims, who are otherwise fully supportive of all security measures that Indian security forces could come out with, except when it involves Israel and the American Jewish Neo-Cons.

Both, Israelis and Neo-Cons are on the fault-line of clash of civilization with the Muslims of the world and India has no need to intervene within that monumental clash of civilization strife, when it can easily do without it.

In fact, I recall two incidents when India was expressly left out of all discussion when it came to historical dialogs on clash of civilization. The late Samuel Huntington, in his two hours presentation at Nehru Center, Mumbai, over his Clash of Civilization hypothesis, did not even once mention India. (In fact, that upset some saffron VIPs sitting in front rows.).

The same happened, when US President Obama addressed Muslim world at Cairo University lecture. India was out of any such confrontational discussion even at international level.

Why then some unthinking and immature policy makers, are bent on spoiling India's peace and security, by deliberately bringing in Israel in the picture.

More than the security that Israeli could provide, their very presence in Mumbai will appear to be an open invitation and challenge to elements inimical to India, to target the peaceful people of Mumbai, to a continuous dread of further attacks. The repercussions of those eventualities are too frightening to even think.

Doubtless the suicide attackers will lose their lives in the end, but they will certainly more than ever increase the sense of insecurity in the minds of Mumbai's people and its potential investors.

Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh and Chidambaram, should take immediate action to save Mumbai from becoming a battle ground between two most notorious international terrorist groups.
